We are looking for a dedicated Graduate Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Rugby. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who is keen to gain hands-on experience with students who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and behavioural difficulties, while making a real difference every day.

Graduate Behaviour Mentor – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural and emotional challenges
  • Building strong, positive relationships with students who require consistent and firm guidance
  • Assisting with emotional regulation strategies and promoting positive behaviour
  • Supporting in-class learning and helping re-engage pupils in education
  • De-escalating situations calmly and implementing restorative practices
  • Delivering interventions focused on social skills, resilience, and communication
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to monitor progress
  • Helping create a safe, structured, and nurturing school environment

Graduate Behaviour Mentor – What We’re Looking For:

  • A 2:1 degree or above – ideally in Psychology, Criminology, Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential
  • A calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach to support
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence to work independently and as part of a wider pastoral team
  • A passion for inclusion, equality, and supporting students from challenging backgrounds
  • A desire to pursue a career in education, SEN, youth work, or mental health support
