Are you passionate about shaping a greener future through smart planning? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Junior / Graduate / Apprentice / Early stage Career - Planning Consultant to join our award-winning Planning Team based in Exeter, with the flexibility to work remotely.

This is a fantastic opportunity for early-career professionals (0–5 years’ experience) to work on nationally significant renewable energy and infrastructure projects across the UK — all within a supportive, forward-thinking consultancy that champions flexibility, innovation, and sustainability.

Lighthouse will support you in all your training, whether its on the job or part time study and help you obtain your RTPI status through the APC.

The Role

• Support the delivery of planning applications, DNS applications, NSIP applications and discharge of conditions and appeals
• Assist with site assessments, planning appraisals, project management and project research
• Assist with site identification and use of GIS
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams across the UK
• Work on major infrastructure schemes, particularly in the green energy sector (wind, solar, battery storage, grid infrastructure, etc.) across England, Wales and Scotland
• Contribute to environmental and planning strategies that drive sustainable development

About You

• A degree in Town Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related discipline
• Working toward (or keen to work toward) RTPI accreditation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong research, analysis, and organisational skills
• A proactive mindset and passion for renewable energy and infrastructure delivery
