An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Applications Engineer to join a well-established engineering manufacturer supplying specialist equipment across the UK and Europe. This is a hands-on, technical and commercially focused role, ideal for a recent chemical engineering graduate looking to build a career in applications engineering, product development, and customer support.
The Role
As a Graduate Applications Engineer, you will work within a small, friendly engineering team, supporting customers with technical product selection and contributing to innovative product development projects. This is a varied role combining technical calculations, client interaction, and practical hands-on work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical product selection support to customers and distributors.
- Assist with equipment sizing, preparing quotations, and producing documentation.
- Contribute to product development and testing, including R&D projects.
- Create or update technical data sheets and marketing materials.
- Support quality checks, testing, and occasional product assembly.
- Attend occasional European exhibitions, conferences, and site visits.
About You
Were looking for someone who is enthusiastic about engineering, keen to learn, and confident in both technical and customer-facing situations.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
- Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and quick to learn.
- Willing to be involved across the business, from office-based technical work to hands-on product testing.
- Based within 3040 minutes of Stockport or willing to relocate.
