Job description

Job Description:

At LOMA SYSTEMS, we don't just manufacture inspection equipment—we safeguard what matters most: consumer health and product integrity. As a premium global leader in food and pharmaceutical inspection technology, we invite you to be part of a team that's shaping the future of food safety.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Graduate Application Engineer to join our dynamic Internal Sales team. In this role you will be a crucial link between customers, sales teams, and engineering to ensure the creation of successful specifications, proposal documents and delivery of technical equipment orders. You will need to take a technical and commercial view to the total viability of an order/enquiry by balancing commercial goals against our engineering capability and effort.

What will you be doing?

  • Assess customer applications to understand appropriate product specifications.
  • Review incoming orders for correct technical and commercial alignment. Prepare accurate proposals, including technical configurations and cost calculations.
  • Enter order details into ERP/IT systems and prepare formal order acknowledgments.
  • Resolve technical, application-related or delivery concerns.
  • Engage with customers to secure drawing approvals for complex orders.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is created for sales support, manufacturing, testing and compliance.
  • Maintain an organized database of machine drawings and past designs.
  • Provide input for design guide updates and suggest improvements.
  • Assist in product testing to validate customer requirements are met.
  • Participate in technical enquiry meetings to support the sales process.

What do we need from you?

  • Engineering or technical education.
  • Ability to manage high-volume customer interactions and complex sales order processes, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills applied confidently at all levels.
  • Proficient in using related software e.g. Microsoft Office Excel to high level.
  • A role model of Loma’s behaviours (Hands-on, One Team, Positive Mindset, Delivering on our Commitments, Taking the initiative) and ITW Values.

Why Choose to work for us?

  • Impactful Work: With over 50 years of expertise, our 'Designed to Survive' systems—encompassing Metal Detectors, X-ray Inspection, Checkweighers, and Combination Systems—are trusted by top-tier food and pharmaceutical brands worldwide.
  • Hands-On Culture: We empower every team member to take initiative, fostering an environment where your contributions directly influence our success.
  • Global Reach, Local Impact: As part of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), a Fortune 250 company, we combine the agility of a specialized firm with the stability and resources of a global enterprise.
  • Continuous Innovation: Our commitment to research and development drives us to continually enhance our products, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the industry.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Join a team that values diverse perspectives and works together to achieve common goals, all while maintaining a positive and friendly atmosphere.
