Responsibilities

As a Graduate Acoustic Consultant, you will:

  • Contribute to noise and vibration impact assessments, guided by senior consultants.
  • Perform sound insulation testing to meet professional and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct computational noise modeling for environmental and architectural acoustics.
  • Prepare professional, industry-standard technical written reports.
  • Support and participate in environmental surveys across various project sites (primarily Leicestershire and surrounding areas).
  • Engage directly with clients to understand requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Travel across Leicestershire and other locations in the UK for on-site work, with occasional overnight trips, for which compensation is provided.
  • Aid in the development of noise management plans, considering both technical and practical solutions.
  • Foster relationships within the Leicestershire client base while spearheading innovative acoustics methodologies.


Qualifications

To succeed in the role of Graduate Acoustic Consultant, you will need:

  • A degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • A full UK driving licence, enabling you to commute to various sites within Leicestershire and beyond.
  • Strong skills in numerical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Proficiency in IT tools, such as Microsoft Office and (ideally) specialist acoustic software.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with clients and teammates.


Day-to-Day

Your typical day as a Graduate Acoustic Consultant in Leicestershire may include:

  • Conducting on-site noise and vibration monitoring exercises, following staff supervision.
  • Analyzing real-world datasets from computational noise models.
  • Writing technical reports fit for submission to government and public stakeholders.
  • Participating in collaborative team meetings at our Leicestershire headquarters.
  • Attending client meetings, offering actionable advice and updates.
