About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated Grade 4 Cover Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This full-time position involves providing PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) cover across all primary year groups — from Early Years through to Year 6.
As part of this role, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons and engaging learning activities to ensure high-quality teaching and learning continues in the class teacher’s absence. You’ll be supported by a strong leadership team and will have access to excellent professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.
- Support pupils’ learning, progress, and well-being in line with school policies.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
- Manage behaviour effectively and promote the school’s values and expectations.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, teaching assistants, and senior leaders.
About You
- Experience working within a primary school setting.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed.
- A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 Teaching Assistant, HLTA, or equivalent experience).

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- Good standard of education (GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths)
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant, HLTA, or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Evidence of continuing professional development or training relevant to working in education.
Experience

- Experience of working with children across primary age ranges (EYFS to Year 6).
- Experience supporting or delivering whole-class lessons or learning activities.
- Experience managing pupil behaviour in line with school policies.
- Experience contributing to pupil progress and supporting assessment for learning.
