Job description

My client, an innovative, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Flood Risk Consultant to join their growing team of specialist consultants, based near to the conveniently-located, family-friendly town of Bridgend, South Wales.

Essential Criteria:

* A Degree in a relevant discipline, such as Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or other similar academic background

* Experience of writing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and flood mitigation reports

* Working knowledge of conducting flood modelling surveys

* An understanding of the interpretation of flood risk data, utilising GIS software packages

* Experience of presenting flood risk information to clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Flood Risk Consultant to possess the following:

* Strong analytical skills and technical-mindedness

* Excellent standard of written English, particularly when applied to report writing

* Experience of establishing and building stakeholder relations

In your varied new role of Flood Risk Consultant, you will join a growing team of experts in their respective fields, with a view to developing your skills as you progress through your career. The role will involve several interesting responsibilities, including:

* Carrying out flood risk surveys to inform assessment, planning applications, and mitigation

* Undertaking flood risk analysis at a variety of sites, especially considering climate change

* Conducting surveys to inform planning applications, drainage strategies, and flood management and mitigation plans

* Providing data for the maintenance of company databases

* Working on a range of sites, nation-wide

* Proactively contributing to team meetings and business development plans

* Mentoring junior colleagues in their on-going development
