Job description

My client, an innovative, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Flood Risk Consultant to join their growing team of specialist consultants, based near to the lively, industrial city of Newport, South Wales.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or similar
  • Experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and flood mitigation reports
  • Working knowledge of conducting flood modelling surveys
  • An understanding of how to interpret flood risk data, using GIS software packages
  • Experience of presenting flood risk information to clients and other stakeholders

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Flood Risk Consultant to possess the following:

  • Strong analytical skills and technical-mindedness
  • Excellent standard of written English, particularly when applied to report writing
  • Experience of establishing and building stakeholder relations

  • Carrying out flood risk surveys to inform assessment, planning, and mitigation

  • Contributing data to the growth and maintenance of company databases
  • Working on a range of sites, nation-wide
  • Proactively contributing to team meetings and business development plans
  • Mentoring junior colleagues
