Job summary

Role Description The Grab Driver role at Comex 2000 is a full-time, on-site position based in the United Kingdom. The Grab Driver is responsible for operating grab lorries to transport materials to and from work sites, supporting telecommunications infrastructure projects. Day-to-day tasks include safely loading and unloading materials, following job plans and site instructions, and working closely with site supervisors and field teams to ensure timely delivery and collection. The Grab Driver will complete vehicle checks, maintain accurate delivery records, adhere to health and safety regulations, and represent Comex 2000 professionally when interacting with clients, the public, and colleagues. Occasional early starts, late finishes, or weekend work may be required to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV/Class 2 (Category C) licence and proven experience operating grab lorries or similar heavy vehicles.
• Current CPC qualification and, ideally, HIAB or equivalent grab loader certification.
• Strong understanding of road safety, load securing, and on-site health and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and follow job sheets, route plans, and site instructions with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams, supervisors, and coordinators.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills for completing delivery notes and vehicle checklists.
• Experience in utilities, construction, or telecommunications infrastructure is beneficial.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing site requirements.
• Right to work in the UK and a clean or manageable driving record in line with company policy.
