NHS Lothian is seeking to recruit a Lead Nurse to provide senior nursing leadership for quality improvement and standards within the Royal Edinburgh and Associated Services (REAS). This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to support NHS Lothian in achieving their ambition to become a Quality Management System.
The Lead Nurse for Quality Improvement and Standards will provide clinical and professional nursing leadership for the delivery of Care Assurance and Value Management within REAS services across NHS Lothian. This involves ensuring robust systems, policies, procedures, professional guidance, standards, and training and education strategies are in place. Additionally, they will offer expert clinical nursing advice, focusing on strengthening links with Healthcare Improvement Scotland, with particular emphasis on Excellence in Care.
The post holder should have experience leading nurses, relevant clinical services, and Quality Improvement initiatives. They should have a proven track record of successfully leading clinical teams, managing change, and prioritizing safety, quality, and patient experience.
Care Assurance in NHS Lothian is delivered through the Care Assurance and Accreditation Framework, embedded in Nursing Strategies. This links with the national care assurance framework for Scotland, Excellence in Care, providing a platform for monitoring and assuring nursing outcomes within a complex, multi-professional environment.
The strategic direction aligns with national and regional priorities. The Lead Nurse will report to the Deputy Chief Nurse of REAS and the Head of Nursing for Quality Improvement and Standards, working collaboratively across sites and with division nursing and managerial teams.
The successful candidate should have a strong nursing background, evidence of Post Graduate study at Level 11 in nursing, leadership, or Quality Improvement, and have undertaken relevant Quality Improvement training with practical application of methodologies.
