Job summary

Apple UK GPU Design Centre is seeking an experienced RTL Design Engineer to refine micro-architectural specifications and implement designs for cutting-edge GPU technology. You will work closely with architecture, verification and physical design teams to balance performance, power and area while meeting project schedules.

The role involves reviewing synthesis reports, debugging, and ensuring quality of results throughout the design cycle, from micro-architecture through system integration.

Qualifications

• Fluency in RTL Verilog/VHDL and hardware modelling.
• Strong background in computer architecture and data-path units.
• Experience with energy-efficient and low-power logic design.
• Proficiency in logic optimisation, synthesis and timing analysis.
• Familiarity with verification, debugging and formal verification.
• Excellent communication, self-motivation and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Refine GPU micro-architectural specifications with design teams.
• Implement the micro-architecture balancing energy, performance and area.
• Review synthesis and power reports, identifying and resolving timing/power issues.
• Work with verification to ensure correct functionality and thorough testing.
• Collaborate with physical design for optimal layout integration.
• Simulate and debug designs across system context.
