Lightning AI, the company behind PyTorch Lightning, is seeking a GPU & Compute Infrastructure Engineer to own image management and validation for large-scale GPU compute systems. You will operate across bare-metal infrastructure, drive automation, and ensure stable qualification processes, with a role based in our hubs including London.

The role emphasizes Linux system expertise, GPU diagnostics, and cross-functional collaboration across hardware and ML teams, with a hybrid work model and visa

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong Linux systems expertise in production settings.
• Hands-on GPU-enabled systems experience (NVIDIA DCGM).
• Familiarity with bare-metal provisioning and system bring-up workflows.
• Proficiency in Python for automation.

Responsibilities

• Own image management, deployment, and validation across bare-metal infrastructure.
• Run and maintain test clusters for system validation and bring-up.
• Validate firmware, drivers, and OS images on GPU-enabled systems.
• Develop automation to improve provisioning and validation pipelines.
• Interface with hardware management systems (IPMI/Redfish) for monitoring.
