Job summary

Peaple Talent is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Linux) for its GPU data centre operations in the UK. The role is remote-first with an Aztec West office opening later; salary £50,000–£65,000, 4-on-4-off shifts, and permanent status.

You will own live Linux infrastructure performance, diagnose complex incidents, and shape runbooks as the operation scales. Ideal candidates have strong Linux production experience, an infrastructure background, and a proactive mindset for automation

Qualifications

Production Linux experience required.
Infrastructure background across servers, compute and storage.
Automation and scripting capability (Ansible, Python, Bash).
2nd/3rd line incident resolution and SLA ownership.
Willingness to work a 24x7, 4-on-4-off shift.
Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) and a full UK driving licence.
Located within reach of Bristol for occasional office days.

Responsibilities

Own and resolve complex incidents across GPU compute, storage, networking, and platform.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
Build and improve monitoring, alerting, and automation.
Coordinate maintenance windows and site work with partners.
Own technical tickets end-to-end, maintain docs, and run shift handovers.
Help set operational standards for a growing function.
