The role

The research compiler is instrumental to IMG’s ability to innovate and fine tune new generations of industry leading GPU IP. PowerVR graphics processors enable a cutting-edge, power-efficient, and flexible solution for all forms of multimedia processing, including 3D and 2D graphics as well as AI on edge, all in the same unified engine. As a compiler research engineer, you will be working on challenging projects at the forefront of graphics and AI hardware.

You will:

  • Participate in the development of the research compiler targeting the Vulkan API.
  • Work within a team of GPU researchers to simulate new features from driver to hardware implementation.
  • Maintain and improve the C++ code base and effectiveness of the research compiler.
  • Identify, debug, and fix complex technical problems across the simulation model.
  • Interface with teams of hardware architects and engineers to model, test and improve architectural and functional specifications.

  • 2+ years of industry or academic experience in a related field.

You might also have:

  • Some knowledge of Vulkan and modern 3D graphics.
  • Some knowledge of modern GPU architectures.
  • Experience with compiler development.
  • Low-level programming experience.
