Job summary

Elysium Healthcare’s Thornford Park Hospital is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support safe medication management across GP, nursing and pharmacy provider teams. You will ensure on-site ordering, dispensing and storage of medications, participate in audits and governance, and deliver training while maintaining GPhC guidance.

The role requires GPhC registration, Level 3 Diploma for Pharmacy Technicians (or equivalent), and at least two years’ supervised experience in a pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

• GPhC Registration is essential.
• Level 3 Diploma for Pharmacy Technicians (or BTEC/NVQ Level 3) required.
• Minimum of two years supervised experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Equivalent qualifications accepted where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Work with GP service, MDT, and pharmacy provider to ensure on-site ordering, dispensing and receipt of medications.
• Act on safety alerts to prioritise service user safety.
• Ensure safe storage of medications with nursing teams.
• Attend monthly multidisciplinary meetings and contribute as appropriate.
• Contribute to clinical governance and policy changes via the governance forum.
• Maintain GPhC registration and ensure professional accreditations are up to date.
• Escalate quality concerns following company policy.
• Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
• Provide Pharmacy Technician support across departments during the week.
• Liaise with pharmacy provider and nursing staff to support service development.
• Participate in audits to drive continuous improvement and service development.
