To take clinical responsibility for registered & temporary patients and maintain appropriate records of treatment given and NHS services provided
Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the GMS contract and enhanced services where appropriate
Undertake a variety of consultations including face to face, telephone triage, telephone consultations and home visits, as well as participating in the on call Rota. Ensure appropriate referrals are made in a timely and efficient manner, optimising the use of Choose and Book
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems; assessing the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes in system one to agreed standards; ensuring accurate notes of all patient contact and consultations, in line with any IM&T protocols
Prescribe safe and effective medicines management which conforms to CCG formulary, NICE guidance and DH directives, operating safe management and regular review for all patients receiving repeat prescriptions
Understand the skills of, and appropriately supervise, GP registrars, foundation doctors, Physician Associates, nurses, pharmacists, HCAs and other AHPs, recognising the limits of their confidence and competence

The Role:
As a GP Trainer, you will play a crucial role in the development of our GP Registrars (GPSTs) by:
Providing educational and clinical supervision:Guiding trainees through their GP specialty training, overseeing their e-portfolio, and conducting Workplace Based Assessments (WPBAs) and progress reviews.
Delivering engaging one-to-one tutorials:Offering personalized teaching and support, fostering their clinical skills, and addressing their learning needs.
Contributing to a positive and supportive learning environment:Encouraging reflection, providing constructive feedback, and facilitating their integration into the practice team.
Staying abreast of the latest clinical developments:Sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the practice.
Our clinical team currently includes GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Physicians Associate, Social Prescriber. There is a strong team atmosphere and a focus on continuous development throughout the surgery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Providing a full range of general medical services to patients.
Participating in the clinical governance framework of the practice.
Supervising and mentoring GP trainees, including conducting tutorials and assessments.
Contributing to the development of the practice's training program.
Engaging in continuing professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills.
Working collaboratively with other members of the practice team.
To take clinical responsibility for registered patients and maintain appropriate records of treatment given and NHS services provided
Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract and additional enhanced services where appropriate
Undertake a variety of consultations including face to face, telephone triage, telephone consultations and home visits as well as participating in the on call rota Ensure appropriate referrals are made in a timely and efficient manner, optimising the use of Choose and Book to facilitate patient choice and access
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems; assessing the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
In consultation with patients and in line with current disease management protocols, screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, develop care plans for health related illnesses, and provide health education as required
Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes using system one to agreed standards; ensuring accurate notes of all patient contact and consultations, in line with any IM&T protocols
Prescribe safe and effective medicines management which conforms to CCG formulary, NICE guidance and DH directives ; operating safe management and regular review for all patients receiving repeat prescriptions
Undertake timely administrative tasks and workflow management of patient queries, results, reports and other correspondence
Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and all other disciplines within the primary health care team, with appropriate regard for confidentiality
Strive to maintain quality within the practice; alerting other team members to issues of quality or risk; participating in clinical, significant event monitoring and referral meetings where relevant and appropriate
Maintain awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
Assess and take accountability for own performance and actions; effectively managing own time, workload and resources
Collecting data and participating in practice audits; ensuring agreed recommendations and changes to working practice are implemented in an efficient manner
Maintain continued education and personal development plan
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
