About us

CoventryGP started as a single-handed GP practice with Dr. J Sihota on 1st October 1985, at a purpose-built building on the corner of Broad Street and Stoney Stanton Road.

Dr. Sihota was joined by Dr. Nahl in 1992, and together they took over Telfer Road Surgery in Radford in 1996. Having two sites, it became clear that we needed another partner, so Dr. Dosanjh joined the practice in 1997. We worked from both sites, but Telfer Road Surgery was very old and in need of renovation. After negotiations with Coventry City Council, we received planning permission to build Jubilee Health Centre, which opened in 2003 next to Tesco on Jubilee Crescent.

With the opening of Jubilee Health Centre, we had two purpose-built surgeries, and the patient list grew. In 2010, we received a deanery grant to extend Broad Street Surgery, which had outgrown its original building. The extension was completed in 2011, providing two large, purpose-built premises for our patients.

In 2012, Dr. Malik joined as a GP trainee, later becoming a partner after Dr. Sihota's retirement. Since then, the practice has grown to care for over 10,000 patients across both sites.

Job responsibilities

We are seeking a hardworking individual looking to join a busy GP practice at Broad Street Surgery. The role is based at Broad Street but may require covering at Jubilee Health Centre if needed. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls, communicating between doctors, patients, and team members, handling queries from GPs, patients, hospitals, and performing administrative duties.
