Job summary

NHS Borders in Melrose is inviting applications for a GP Partner or Salaried GP to join a friendly, well‑supported practice at Melrose Health Centre. The role supports a 7,000 patient list across two locations with a 4‑partner team, ANPs, a Practice Nurse and experienced admin staff.

The practice prioritises continuity of care and sustainable workload, with opportunities to develop specialist interests. There is active training activity and a strong MDT network within Borders General Hospital

Responsibilities

• Deliver GP services across 2–8 sessions per week (Partner / Salaried / Long‑term Locum).
• Support continuity of care in a well‑supported practice and engage in chronic disease management.
• Work within a strong MDT and maintain low home visiting, with optional out‑of‑hours locally.

GP Partner / Salaried GP – Scottish Borders

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, well-supported practice in Melrose and Newtown St Boswells, following a planned partner retirement in April 2027.

We are a cohesive team serving 7,000 patients, with 4 GP partners, 5 ANPs, a Practice Nurse and experienced admin support.

We prioritise continuity of care and a sustainable workload, with ANPs delivering most acute care and the PN leading chronic disease management. The role 2–8 sessions (Partner / Salaried / Long-term Locum) 25 15-minute appointments (routine days) Low home visiting No out-of-hours (optional locally) We work within a strong MDT (district nurses, health visitors, physiotherapy, pharmacy, and CTAC) and have excellent links with Borders General Hospital (10 minutes away).

We are also an active training practice (ANPs and due to start hosting FY2s soon).
