A rare and exciting opportunity has become available at Llandaff North Medical Centre for a 3 day (5 session) GP partner to join our practice, due to the relocation abroad of the previous post holder.
We are a GP training practice with two trainers. Llandaff North Medical Centre is a long-established practice with a stable list size of 6500. We are active within the cluster and the LMC. We value a supportive working environment and the clinical team meet daily over coffee, as well as more formally at regular practice clinical meetings.
The practice was purpose built in 1997 and is located in the West of Cardiff in Llandaff North Village with easy access to the M4 corridor. There are excellent bus and rail links within a short walk from the practice. The practice is within easy reach from the city centre. The surgery benefits from on-site parking We have a close working relationship with the local pharmacy, and we have a supportive team of staff who are on hand to help at all times.

The practice pridesitself on the provision of high quality GP training and both current partnersare experienced trainers. The practice area is part of theCardiff West Cluster and primarily serves the community in Llandaff North,Gabalfa and Whitchurch, with some wider patients in the Fairwater, Danescourtand Llandaff area, providing a varied, rewarding and interesting patientcaseload.
The following are the core responsibilities of the GP partner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of services within the GMS contract
c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d. Effective management of long-term conditions
e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
f. Part of the on-call rota (afternoons only)
g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
h. Contribute to the effective management of the practice
i. Show leadership qualities, working collaboratively, ensuring an even distribution of the practice workload
j. Identify, implement and embed best practice through clinical guidelines and the audit process
k. To take responsibility for continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
l. Awareness of QI requirements
m. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
n. Represent the practice at collaborative meetings
o. Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR
p. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
q. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
r. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
s. Contribute to the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
t. Remain fully focused on the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
u. Prepare and attend partnership meetings contributing in a positive manner
v. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
w. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
