The role will be split between our Rush Hill Surgery site & our Weston Surgery site in Combe Park, Bath

About usWe are a GP practice looking for a new partner, due to upcoming retirement
9200 patients across 2 sites. A purpose-built premises at Rush Hill site on the south side of Bath and Weston site, a converted Georgian house 2 miles away, opposite the Royal United Hospital.
We are a friendly and democratic practice, that values good work-life balance.
Robust nursing team consisting of 3 practice nurses, 3 HCAs and a phlebotomist, led by our senior nurse practitioner. Experienced diabetic nurse and respiratory nurse.
Strong working relations with our PCN https://minervapcn.nhs.uk/
ARRS staff include a pharmacy team shared across the PCN, a social prescriber, paramedic home visiting team, two multi-skilled care coordinators and a GPA.
PMS practice with high QoF achievement
Moving across to total triage system later this year
We would be happy to support doctors who want to pursue further clinical or non-clinical interests. We have traditionally been a training practice, but the Educational Supervisor will be retiring, so there is a role for this if interested.

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, video consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and authorising repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
Providing counselling and health education.
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes.
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
Assist with the supervision of registrars.
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
