GP Medical Lead – Community Same Day Emergency Care (cSDEC)

Are you a visionary GP Medical Lead looking to shape and drive our Community Same Day Emergency Care (cSDEC) services across Oxfordshire? The base locations for the role are Witney, Abingdon, Henley, and SPA/UCR hubs in Abingdon or Banbury.

You will be working at the forefront of community-based emergency care transformation and possess a passion for urgent care, service innovation, and clinical leadership!

Main duties of the job

A new substantive leadership position designed to strengthen and evolve our cSDEC units in Abingdon, Henley, and Witney.

You'll work in a triumvirate leadership model alongside the Matron and Operations Manager, with support from unit clinical leads and the Senior Management Team (ICC), to deliver high-quality, responsive care and integrated services across Oxford Health and system partners. You will provide clinical leadership and supervision to GPs working in the units and across related services, including SPA and UCR functions.

This is a unique opportunity to influence urgent care delivery at scale, while remaining grounded in clinical practice

Qualifications - Academic/Skills/Professional
  • Practicing GP - experience within the past 3 years
  • GMC registration on the GP register
  • Licence to practice as a GP/successful revalidation
  • Demonstrated experience post GP qualification
  • Experience of leading services and line management of medics
