Job summary

NHS Borders seeks a General Practitioner with a specialist interest in adoption and fostering to act as a medical adviser to Borders adoption and fostering panels. You will screen adult health assessments and write reports for panels and social work, outlining how health matters may affect children and placement.

The role includes contributing to training, audits and research, and attending monthly team meetings. 0.5 sessions per week may be worked flexibly.

Qualifications

• Provides comprehensive health reports for fostering/adoption panels.
• Acts as designated medical adviser to Borders social work/adoption panels.
• Supports GP colleagues with information for adult health assessments required by law.
