Position: Locum GP

Location: The Health Centre, 2-4 Kirkland Road, Kilbirnie KA25 6HS

Kilbirnie Medical Practice is seeking a 5-session locum GP to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will join our dedicated team in a thriving medical practice in Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire. We seek a flexible, committed GP eager to integrate with our team and work alongside partners, salaried GPs, and supportive staff to deliver high-quality primary care.

The position is fixed-term from July 2025 for approximately 12 months, with a flexible start date negotiable later in summer. We are open to multiple GPs working fewer sessions to ensure full coverage.

As a well-established training practice based in a Health Centre, we deliver high standards of patient care.

Your clinical role involves on-site work, including a mixture of face-to-face and telephone appointments, as well as house visits. House visits are covered by AUCS (Ayrshire Urgent Care Service) in the afternoons. We currently use EMIS and Docman systems. Our fortnightly practice meetings promote multidisciplinary teamwork and continuous improvement.

No extended hours commitment is required.

Practice Details:

1. Registered patients: 8,000
2. Staff: 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 Practice Manager, 6 Receptionists, 3 Administrators, and a Practice Secretary
3. Training commitments include GPST1 and GPST3
4. Attached staff from NHSA&A include clinics within our premises, such as CTAC, Pharmacists, Mental Health Practitioner, Physiotherapist, and Link Worker
