Our client, based in Hampstead, London, is seeking an experienced, permanent French-speaking Governess/Nanny to care for their three daughters (twins aged 8 and a 5-year-old).

A French speaker is ESSENTIAL for this position, as the Governess/Nanny will need to speak French to the children and teach them in French. The ideal candidate should have a teaching background, a self-starter attitude, confidence in childcare and development, and be highly organized. The family is very active and enjoys outdoor activities, so a fun and energetic nature is preferred.

You will engage the children in activities that support their development and milestones. Experience with SEN children is a bonus but not essential; patience and caring nature are a must, especially as one child has Down's Syndrome.

Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, with responsibilities including:

  • Supporting the children’s morning routine
  • Taking the children to school
  • Supporting a child with special needs at school daily
  • Collaborating with the school to meet educational and emotional needs
  • Organizing activities at home and externally, including outings during holidays and after school
  • Ensuring children are well-mannered and well-behaved
  • Traveling with the family during school holidays, requiring flexibility
  • Assisting with after-school mealtimes and French homework
