Herefordshire Council is looking to appoint a highly motivated Governance Support Co-ordinator. This is an excellent opportunity to continue or commence your career in school and academy governance. You will 'virtually' attend an allocated number of governing and trust board meetings, taking detailed minutes, and provide support, advice, and guidance on governance law and procedure to assist governors, trustees, and school leaders in their leadership and management roles.
While the role offers flexibility within the allocated hours, there will be a need to work some evenings. The post holder should have the ability to present information clearly and assertively. An understanding and knowledge of the role of governors and trustees within the management structure of a school or academy is essential. Although experience in governance and academy law and procedure would be desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided.
The post holder must demonstrate outstanding planning and organisational skills and be competent in the use of the Microsoft Windows package (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams). Evening working will be required, and the post holder will need to be flexible.
If you feel you could make a difference and can develop good working relationships, work well within a climate and culture of continuous improvement, and convey information and ideas effectively, we would love to hear from you.
A competitive salary and access to our contributory pension and staff benefits scheme, which includes:
