Job description

Job title: Governance Role- Physical Security Lead (Edgewing)

Location: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. Due to the nature of this assignment, we envisage there will be a need for mostly on site working, however, flexible working arrangements may be possible – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Salary: £53,211+ Dependent of skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide physical security policy advice aligned with the strategy set by the Head of JV Governance to protect the JV, its people, infrastructure, classified areas, information and assets, using national and international standards and best practice to inform that advice

  • Implement physical security requirements for managing the accreditation process and its ongoing maintenance

  • Take ownership of the physical security risk process, including identifying, documenting, tracking, mitigating and monitoring security risks across the JV and its supply chain

  • Develop and implement clear, inclusive policies and procedures for the secure handling and management of classified documents and material

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Able to work within defined processes and procedures while exercising sound judgement to determine the most appropriate solutions, drawing on past experience and best practice

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with proven experience communicating effectively with senior leadership across internal functions and international external partners

  • Previous experience in a highly regulated environment implementing physical security, governance or assurance

Desirable

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in a security-related field

The Edgewing Security Governance Team

You will be joining a highly motivated, experienced team within the BAE Systems Air sector, committed to the delivery and progression of a Future Combat Air System (FCAS) for the UK. You will play a central role in working across a diverse stakeholder group of functional and delivery teams including tri national industry and government colleagues from across our partner nations to support the delivery of the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
