Queen Mary University of London seeks a Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager to enhance IT governance frameworks and risk management processes. The Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager is a senior role within the Information Security team, responsible for maintaining and improving governance and risk frameworks for IT Services, including oversight of our ISO 27001 Information Security Management System. The postholder will define risk and governance processes, including process owner identification and activities to ensure effective governance, protecting IT systems and information assets. They will identify, evaluate, and report on governance and compliance risks and issues, ensuring compliance with the University's regulatory and legal requirements. The manager will work proactively with departments, faculties, and other internal units to implement practices aligned with the University's policies and standards for information risk management, governance, and compliance.
You should possess significant expertise in IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance, with proven experience in implementing robust risk and governance frameworks in complex environments. Success in delivering high-quality, resilient, and secure enterprise-wide IT and Information Security governance, with a customer-focused, risk-based approach, is essential.
Ideally, you will have a degree and/or professional qualification in an IT-related field or extensive experience in relevant technical areas. It is essential to hold a risk management qualification (e.g., CRISC) or demonstrate substantial management and operational experience using best practice information risk frameworks such as ISO 27001. Project management qualifications (e.g., Prince2, MSP, PMP) or demonstrable project management experience are desirable.
