Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Officer

The Opportunity:

Are you a specialist in corporate governance, risk and compliance? Are you a GRC Officer or Manager looking for an interesting role with huge future potential within the beautiful county of Somerset? This role would suit a detail-oriented professional with a strong sense of responsibility and a desire to drive efficiency and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • The primary function of this role is to support the Managing Director in all administrative and governance-related matters, ensuring smooth operations across various corporate functions.
  • This role is responsible for a broad range of administrative, legal, and governance tasks, as well as contributing to strategic projects in the first two years - all within a busy engineering environment.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of confirmation statements and other statutory filings, including those to Companies House.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and best practices.
  • Assist with legal documentation, including reviewing and maintaining contracts and corporate policies.
  • Project-Based Responsibilities may include: GDPR Implementation, Business Continuity Planning, IT Policy Development, Corporate Policy Review and Development.
You Will Offer:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a financial, legal, governance, or compliance role preferred.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance principles and UK regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Experience in policy development, GDPR, or internal controls is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
Working Hours and Associated Benefits:

26 days holiday per annum (allocated to fixed and flexible dates) plus 8 statutory bank holidays.
Working Hours: 07.00 to 16.30 Monday to Wednesday, 07.00 to 16.00 Thursday with every Friday off
