Job summary

Pontoon is recruiting a Governance and Regulatory Change Manager for a major payments business. The role is a contract until March 2027, based across Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh or Halifax with hybrid working (2 days on site, 3 days remote).

You will lead regulatory, risk and audit remediation within the Group Sourcing & Supplier Management function, translating findings into actionable delivery plans. Experience in regulated financial services, stakeholder management, and strong data skills

  • Advanced Excel; Power BI is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of supplier management or third-party risk beneficial.

They are seeking an experienced Governance and Regulatory Change Manager to join the Group Sourcing & Supplier Management (GS&SM) team. The position is being offered on an initial contract to the end of March 2027, hybrid working being based from on of the above locations 2 days a week with the remaining 3 days working from home.

About the Role

GS&SM plays a vital role in both cost efficiencies and revenue generation, helping the business make informed decisions that balance pace, value and risk when acquiring goods and services.

They are seeking a Governance & Regulatory Change Manager to support the delivery of key regulatory, risk and audit-related initiatives across the GS&SM function. Working closely with policy owners, risk teams, audit partners and senior stakeholders, you will help shape solutions, drive remediation activities and ensure changes are successfully embedded into the Supplier Management Framework.

This role would suit someone who enjoys operating in a complex regulatory environment and has experience delivering change, managing stakeholders and translating regulatory requirements into practical business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of regulatory, audit and risk remediation activities across GS&SM.
  • Translate external reviews, gap assessments and regulatory findings into clear delivery plans and actionable outcomes.
  • Partner with policy owners and governance teams to embed requirements into the Sourcing & Supplier Management Framework.
  • Coordinate responses to second-line risk reviews and Internal Audit findings, ensuring issues are accurately understood and addressed.
  • Challenge stakeholders constructively to drive accountability and timely completion of actions.
  • Work closely with risk, policy, control, audit and supplier management stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Support the assessment and enhancement of key sourcing and supplier management tools, processes and controls.
  • Analyse data and reporting outputs to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build recommendations to strengthen governance, operational effectiveness and compliance.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, milestones and escalations relating to regulatory and governance initiatives.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience delivering change within Financial Services or another highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, controls, audit or regulatory change programmes.
  • Experience working with policy teams, regulatory requirements and risk frameworks.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes.
  • Confidence challenging and pushing back appropriately to ensure delivery commitments are met.
  • Experience managing complex action plans and remediation activities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting tools such as Power BI would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of supplier management, third-party risk, operational resilience, PRA regulations or supply chain risk management would be beneficial.
