Overview

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB).

We are looking to recruit a Governance Officer to join our team based at the Trevor Gibbens Unit, Maidstone.

Supporting the Governance Lead to develop and implement quality governance processes within the Directorate to ensure that there is a comprehensive framework to continuously monitor and improve the quality of care provided.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Directorate systems are fit for purpose to facilitate and manage incident reporting, complaints and incidents under the PSIRF framework, and provide project support and facilitation to quality improvement projects.
  • Provide comprehensive support to Directorate-wide meetings as appropriate.
  • Ensure a comprehensive framework to continuously monitor and improve quality of care, with support for development and review of current quality data metrics and the implementation of a revised strategy for timely analysis.
  • Maintain fit-for-purpose systems to facilitate incident reporting, complaints and incidents, maximising digital solutions and providing an evidenced system for daily oversight of all incidents submitted to the Directorate.
  • Lead dissemination of lessons learned from incidents, complaints and feedback and embed them within future practice.
  • Gather CQC evidence and identify gaps in a timely fashion, providing support to teams as required.
  • Work closely with central support services, including patient safety, to ensure clear lines of communication and prevent duplication.
  • Provide project support and facilitation across a range of quality improvement initiatives.
