Job summary

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is seeking a Governance Manager to support our Board of Trustees, Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team in upholding high standards of governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.

You will manage annual governance cycles, coordinate meetings, support trustee recruitment and inductions, ensure accurate records, and build strong relationships across the organisation to enable effective decision-making.

Qualifications

• Significant governance / company secretariat experience.
• Experience supporting Boards, Committees, and Executive Leadership Teams.
• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks and compliance requirements in a regulated, charity, or public sector environment.
• Experience of risk management and assurance processes.
• Excellent written communication and report-writing skills, including minute-taking.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including with non-executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality governance support and advice to senior stakeholders across our organisation, including the Board, Committees and Executive Leadership Team, enabling effective and agile decision-making, driving accountability, and supporting the delivery of NSPCC's strategic objectives and plans for the benefit of babies, children, and young people.
• Ensure that governance structures, policies and processes are effective, compliant and aligned with best practice, and that we are meeting all regulatory reporting requirements.
