Job description

Join us as a Governance Manager

  • If you can demonstrate a broad understanding of our Group structure, businesses, and the key issues they face, you could make a real impact as a Governance Manager.
  • You’ll be responsible for making sure that good governance practice is followed, and that effective policies, procedures and processes are in place to support this.
  • Expect to grow your network and gain exposure both for you and your work, as you enhance the clarity, visibility, coordination and effectiveness of governance practices across NatWest Group.
  • We're offering this role on a temporary basis to cover a period of leave.
What you'll do

As a Governance Manager, you’ll effectively provide a foundation for high-performance by ensuring that robust governance is in place across our organisation. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders to make sure they have the understanding, motivation, and means to fulfil their governance responsibilities – and that they do so, too.

Your other key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and updating corporate governance documents, policies, and procedures.
  • Making sure that statutory records are maintained and filed on time.
  • Acting as a channel of information for corporate governance matters.
  • Taking minutes, drafting papers, and providing briefings for Board and committee members.
  • Supporting governance-related projects and events, such as our annual general meeting, shareholder events, and industry consultations.
The skills you'll need

To make an impact with us, you’ll need an excellent understanding of Group structures, and the challenges faced by large and complex organisations.

An awareness of the UK Companies Act 2006, company secretarial, and legal and regulatory requirements applicable to UK companies is an advantage.

You’ll also bring:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to build great working relationships at all levels.
  • A proven ability to manage highly confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, anticipate problems and react quickly to changing priorities.
