Job summary

Wychavon District Council seeks a Corporate Governance Manager to lead the governance and member support teams from Pershore, with travel to Malvern as required. The role supports the Director and Head of Legal and Governance in delivering a comprehensive governance service for two councils.

You will act as Deputy Monitoring Officer and handle member conduct processes. Applicants should have a degree in a related subject, substantial local authority experience, and proven ability to manage

• Fully mobile with access to transport.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to improving and developing the in-house legal and governance service.
• Significant experience of dealing with complaints and/or investigations.
• Significant experience of working in a local authority or public sector body.
• Significant experience of being involved in committees.

Responsibilities

• Lead the member support team at Wychavon and the democratic services team in Malvern and provide advice to Wychavon’s Civic Administration Officer.
• Act as Deputy Monitoring Officer and assist with processing and investigating member conduct complaints.
