Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Governance and Compliance Officer to strengthen governance, regulatory compliance and assurance across services for residents and staff. You will maintain governance records, policies, reports and provide board support and audit activity.

Based in Birkenhead, the role involves some travel between accommodation centres, with 35 hours per week and 9am–5pm hours. Benefits include pension, Health Plan and 25 days leave.

Qualifications

• Experience formatting reports in Word and creating agenda packs with Acrobat.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to draft governance guidance papers and procedures.
• Confident engaging stakeholders on governance requirements.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and persuasively.

Responsibilities

• Board and Committee Support: organize agendas and papers and produce minutes.
• Governance and Policy Support: implement governance initiatives and guidance.
• Compliance and Assurance: support adherence to laws and standards.
• Records and Reporting: maintain records and assurance reports.
• Audit and Assurance Reviews: organise internal audits and report findings.
• Corporate Planning and KPIs: contribute to the Corporate Plan and annual reports.
• Resident and Employee Engagement: support engagement across settings.
• Service Improvement: promote best practices and cross-team collaboration.
