Effective administrative support and governance are essential to the success of our Trust, and our team of Governance Clerks are crucial in ensuring the Executive Team and Directors can efficiently fulfil their roles. Leigh Academies Trust is a multi-academy trust (MAT) comprising primary, secondary, and special needs academies across South East London and Kent, educating over 24,000 students daily.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Governance Clerk to join us as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will work to a highly professional and organized standard, have a genuine interest in school governance, and stay informed about current educational developments and legislation affecting schools. Previous experience in clerking meetings within an educational setting is essential.
This role offers £35 per hour, with hours to be agreed in advance.
As of September 1, 2024, our Trust includes 33 academies (17 secondary, 14 primary, 2 special), educating over 24,000 students with 4,000 staff. 53% of inspected academies are rated 'Outstanding.' The Trust is establishing three clusters: LAT Central, LAT West, and LAT North. We also operate a major initial teacher training organization, a large teaching school hub, and are an accredited apprenticeship provider.
