This role will oversee all risk and governance functions for SJPUTG, one of the largest Authorised Fund Managers (AFM) in the UK, managing approximately £150bn of assets, including the UK's largest multi-asset fund range for retail clients. The role ensures that Investments and UTG operate in line with the Group Risk Appetite Statement and adhere to regulatory standards, with proper documentation and evidence of standards.

The jobholder will consider the long-term goals of the Group's stakeholders, acting in accordance with the Group’s risk appetite and seeking positive outcomes for clients, Partners, the Investment proposition, financials, shareholders, regulators, and employees.

What you'll be doing:

Investments:

• Direct governance and policy framework for Investments and related entities, including management committees, SMCR, delegations, policies, and procedures.
• Design and oversee breach and incident management frameworks, including root cause analysis and benchmarking against industry standards.
• Ensure teams operate within risk appetite, reviewing procedures and controls for effectiveness and implementing improvements.
• Set high standards for quality and delivery of Board and committee papers, and management information.
• Build key relationships within the Group, including with the Chief Client and Marketing Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and Internal Audit.

SJPUTG Funds:

• Oversee all regulated funds, including management of pricing errors, breaches, and complaints.
• Supervise key functions like Investment Operations to meet regulatory and industry standards.
• Manage the Trustee for SJPUTG funds.

SJPUTG:

• Support the SJPUTG CEO in fulfilling their responsibilities per Group and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the annual Consumer Duty report and client outcomes.
• Manage the SJPUTG Board and Executive Committee.
• Monitor regulatory developments and industry benchmarks.

Who we're looking for:

• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and governance standards within regulated funds.
• Proven experience implementing governance structures in asset management firms.
• Leadership and people management skills with technical teams.
• Experience engaging with regulators.
• Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills at senior levels.
• Strong presentation skills, with Board-level experience.
• Knowledge of Consumer Duty regulations and client outcome reporting.
