The purpose of this role is to support the Group Head of Information Security Risk with Bupa-wide governance and reporting responsibilities.

The Governance and Reporting Manager will be responsible for establishing and implementing the governance framework and reporting function, within GISO. This key role will ensure that governance is effectively implemented and maintained across the organization and that all internal and external reporting requirements are met.

The individual in this role will work closely with the Group Head of GRC, the Group CISO, the Head of Information Security Risk Management, and various stakeholders across Bupa to promote transparency, accountability, and compliance with relevant requirements.

How you’ll help us make health happen

Governance & Risk

  • Develop and implement the governance framework, policies, and procedures, ensuring all policies align with organisational risk practices.

  • Ensure that governance policies are communicated, understood, and followed across the Bupa market units.

  • Provide expert advice to senior management on governance matters (for e.g. internal audit, external audit, regulatory requirements, board-level papers etc.).

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of governance documentation, including charters, terms of reference, and policies.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of governance practices and recommend improvements as necessary.

  • Maintain a central tracker for actions from governance meetings, assigning clear ownership and deadlines, and proactively follow up with action owners to ensure timely completion, escalating risks as needed.

Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all regulatory, board, and operational reports.

  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of internal and external reports.

  • Collaborate with market units and group functions to gather the necessary data for reporting purposes.

  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards to provide senior management with key insights into governance and performance metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.

  • Draft and Circulate Minutes of meetings in a timely manner and to the right forums.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for governance-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with 2nd line, 3rd line, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment with governance and reporting standards.

  • Collaborate with Information Security Risk to embed governance into the risk framework.

GISO Committee Support:

  • Provide governance support to the GISO committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and ensuring the timely distribution of meeting materials.

  • Record and maintain accurate minutes of board and committee meetings.

  • Ensure that committee actions are documented, followed up and tracked to completion.

Compliance and Auditing:

  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure the integrity of governance and reporting practices.

  • Provide governance support and effective reporting on open actions plans, owned by Group GRC team, within GISO.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed of the latest developments in governance and reporting practices.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the governance and reporting function.

  • Lead initiatives to enhance the governance maturity and reporting capabilities.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role

  • Extensive leadership experience in governance, compliance, and risk management within large, complex, global matrix organisations

  • Deep understanding and demonstratable experience of corporate governance principles, risk management frameworks, and reporting standards.

  • Demonstrates strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to confidently engage, influence C-suite executives and senior business leaders.

  • Possesses strong attention to detail and sound analytical skills, with the ability to extract and interpret complex information and tailor outputs appropriately for diverse audiences.

  • A proactive, strategic thinker who takes initiative and sets clear, actionable requirements to drive workstreams toward high-level business outcomes

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
