Governance and Compliance Lead

This is an exciting opportunity for a Governance, Compliance and Policy specialist to join a small, friendly, and growing charity.

Position: Governance and Compliance Lead

Location: Remote – Occasional visits to the Office in the South East

Contract: Permanent

The role

The Governance and Compliance Lead will support the CEO to ensure the organisation is fully compliant with laws, charity governance, and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a dynamic team to contribute to the charity's aims and objectives.
  • Champion and promote the organisation's values and act as an ambassador.
  • Participate in training to improve performance against the Competency Framework.
  • Respond flexibly to organisational needs and undertake other duties as required.
  • Operate in accordance with organisational policies including Health and Safety, Data Protection, Equality and Diversity, and Safeguarding.

About you

You should be an experienced policies, governance, and compliance specialist, ideally in the charity sector, confident in updating and implementing policies to ensure compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience managing compliance and governance within an organisation.
  • Experience working in the charity sector.
  • Expertise in formulating innovative compliance processes and policies.
  • Ability to utilise a systems approach for delivery, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Experience with committees, including minute-taking and reporting actions.
  • Proven ability to educate teams on complex subjects.
  • Understanding of data protection laws and requirements.

Additional experience in Policy, Public Affairs, Governance, or Compliance roles is advantageous.
