Job Description:

As a CDP, you will be part of a team of up to 12 staff members, assisting the Sous Chef in preparing meals for approximately 250 students and staff, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

Your responsibilities include managing the house menu, food production planning, purchasing, stock control, menu development, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Shift Pattern Overview:

  • 5 days over 6, alternating shifts between 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 11:30 AM–7:30 PM
  • Closed Sundays
  • Every third weekend off

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with menu planning, food production, and purchasing within budget
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Manage stock to reduce waste and stay within budget
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, including food safety checks
  • Train and develop kitchen team members
  • Adhere to company policies on uniform and PPE

Outside of Term Time:

Participation in private lettings and international student programs during Easter and summer.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent culinary skills and relevant experience
  • Passion for food and quality service
  • NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent (desirable)
