As a Google Systems Engineer, you will:
  • Deploy Google Distributed Cloud Hosted (GDCH) solutions at customer sites and for internal reference deployments.
  • Develop expertise in deploying and operating GDCH solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure issues (Network, Storage, Servers, OS, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Participate in deployments and training for customers, partners, and internal teams, which may involve international travel.
  • Deliver train-the-trainer programs to empower customers and partners in deployment activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Systems automation, design, implementation, and technical infrastructure expertise.
  • Experience with IaaS solutions like Kubernetes, system virtualization, hybrid cloud computing, and cloud storage solutions such as SQL databases, Google App Engine, and cloud networking.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, networking concepts (PXE boot, Subnets, VLANs, Jumbo Frames, LACP, NIC Teaming, Unicast/Broadcast/Multicast, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, SSH).
  • Experience as a Customer Solution Engineer.
  • Scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby) for automation.
  • Background as a Site Reliability Engineer or in IT production systems engineering.
  • Ability to troubleshoot workload issues across multi-node environments and manage incident cases.
  • Understanding of physical server, storage, and network devices.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and customer empathy.
