Job summary

MBDA UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Logistics Inspection Associate to ensure received goods meet purchase orders and quality/ compliance criteria. The role includes reading assembly drawings, inspecting finishes, performing first article inspections, and producing quality documentation.

The position is on-site in the MBDA site, with hybrid working not applicable due to workload. Applicants must be British citizens or dual nationals and pass BPSS checks after offer.

Qualifications

  • Team player with customer focus; adaptable to processes and practices.
  • SAP experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and accept procured product in line with contractual conditions.
  • Read and understand assembly drawings.
  • Inspect finish of parts to detect defects in finishing or painting or surface deterioration.
  • Undertake first article inspections.
  • Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation.
  • Check and complete paperwork associated with delivered articles.
  • Ensure inspection service level agreements are met with manufacturing demand.
  • Control defect items via segregation from good product and raise defect reports.
  • Maintain product verification approval process via regular audits.
  • Inspect PCB.
  • Ensure compliance with all procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain high workmanship standards and a safe working environment.

Salary

Circa £40,000

Dynamic (hybrid) working

5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance

British Citizen or Dual National

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity

The role of the Senior Logistics Inspection Associate is to ensure that goods received from suppliers meet the criteria of the purchase order and are compliant in all respects.

  • Verify and accept procured product in line with contractual conditions.
  • Practiced in reading and understanding assembly drawings
  • Examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc.
  • Undertaking first article inspections.
  • Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation.
  • Check and complete all paperwork associated with the delivered article.
  • Ensure inspection service level agreements are met in line with manufacturing demand.
  • Control defect items via segregation from good product. Raise and maintain relevant defect reports.
  • Maintain product verification approval process via regular audits.
  • Inspection of PCB
  • Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.Contribute to the maintenance of an orderly and safe working environment.
What we're looking for from you
  • Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)
  • Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.)
  • Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) *Not required if a L3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved
  • The successful candidate should be a team player who is able to demonstrate customer focus. They should be adaptable to any work-related processes and working practices
  • SAP experience is desirable.
