Job summary

MBDA is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Inspection Associate to join the Manufacturing Operations team in a fast-paced, inclusive environment. You will inspect and certify PCB hardware builds, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications throughout the product lifecycle.

You will work on a large multi-disciplinary team, applying 5S principles, and collaborating with engineering and quality to meet time, cost and quality targets while delivering technical excellence on missile

Qualifications

  • Electrical/Manufacturing Level 3 qualification required.
  • Experience reading and understanding assembly drawings and planning instructions.
  • Experience inspecting PCBs and mechanical hardware for damage and build integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure hardware builds conform to drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in line with 5S policies.
  • Deliver outputs on time, within cost and to quality standards.
  • Ensure production costs are met and workmanship is of high quality.
  • Process non-conformances and ensure proper documentation.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our Manufacturing Operations team in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Manufacturing environment.

Job Title: Senior Electrical Inspection Associate
Salary: £43,537
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

This opportunity is for a PCB Inspector (Electrical biased) to join the Manufacturing team supporting inspection and certification of a variety of mechanical hardware builds, ranging from small fixtures through to complex missile systems, during all phases of the product lifecycle. You will be providing operations support to ensure programme targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.

  • Ensuring that completed hardware builds have been manufactured in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications and are free from damage;
  • Maintaining a safe working environment in-line with 5S policies
  • Always aiming to deliver in line with all time, cost and quality requirements
  • Ensuring assembly unit production costs are met
  • Maintaining, to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality
  • Ensuring any non-conformances are processed and controlled correctly;
  • Ensuring that all manufacturing documentation is complete and carries the necessary certifications;
  • Working closely with fellow Operators, Engineering and Quality to overcome any technical challenges and offer feedback for continuous improvement activities

You will be working with a large team of multi-disciplined operators in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Manufacturing environment. The team has a great mix of people, ranging from apprentices through to experienced skilled technicians, all striving to deliver technical excellence across a number of different missile systems in development and production.

What we're looking for from you:
  • Qualifications required (all of the below):
    • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)
    • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.)
    • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ)
  • Practiced in reading and understanding assembly drawings and planning instructions
  • Experience of PCBs essential
  • Practiced in the inspection of mechanical hardware including damage and build integrity
  • Uses their initiative and can work without close supervision
  • Goes the extra mile' to get work finished to a high standard
  • Flexibility and adaptability
