Job summary

Extons Foods Ltd in Manchester is seeking a Goods In Shift Leader to manage unloading and booking in deliveries, and to perform inbound checks to maintain compliance. You will work with the goods in operative to efficiently use space, label pallets and keep accurate records in the warehouse system.

Ideal candidates have FMCG experience, a forklift licence is advantageous, and the role requires the ability to lift up to 25kg.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in an FMCG environment, preferably dairy or cheese manufacturing.
• Forklift truck licence and/or experience is beneficial.
• Be physically capable of lifting products up to 25kg.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries using forklift and pump truck.
• Accurately book in deliveries and maintain records in the warehouse management system.
• Follow goods intake procedures and ensure paperwork is matched.
• Put away and move material using scanner, optimise space.
• Collaborate with peers to maximise efficiencies and ensure safety policies are followed.
• Provide handovers at shift change and support other areas during busy periods.

Role Description:

As a Goods In Shift Leader, you will be responsible for unloading and accurately booking in goods delivered to site, whilst completing the necessary inbound checks required to maintain compliance. You will work with the goods in operative to effectively utilise space, label pallets and maintain accurate records within the system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unload deliveries with the use of a Forklift and pump truck.
• Accurately book in deliveries in accordance with paperwork.
• Strictly follow the goods intake procedures and processes whilst accurately maintaining records in the warehouse management system.
• Put away and move material accurately with the use of a scanner.
• Working knowledge of SAP or an equivalent stock management/ERP system.
• Work in a temperature-controlled environment, decanting and moving goods.
• Understand and adhere to company hygiene and food safety standards.
• Use space and MHE efficiently ensuring workplace health & safety requirements are met.
• Collaborating with peers and superiors to maximise efficiencies and best practice.
• Ensure that your team is maintaining a safe working environment adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• At the start and finish of every shift, ensure a thorough handover has been completed with the relevant people.
• You are expected to support other areas of the business by;
  • Servicing Debox production with raw materials.
  • Servicing Packing Room with Dry Goods.
  • Supporting the Out-loading team in busy periods.
• Working along side the goods in manager to identify and improve processes and streamline efficiencies within the goods in area.
• Mentoring goods in operative to ensure best practice.

• Previous experience within a FMCG environment (previous experience within dairy or cheese manufacturing environment is desirable).

• Be physically capable of lifting products up to 25kg.
• Forklift truck licence and experience beneficial.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday 2pm - 10pm.
• Site based.
