Overview

Inspector - Goods-In – Location: Bedfordshire | Employment Type: Permanent | Salary: Competitive + Benefits

The Role

As a Goods-In Inspector, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high quality and safety standards, carrying out inspections on incoming, in-progress, and final stage products. Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting incoming goods within agreed timeframes, ensuring compliance with technical drawings and specifications.
  • Performing in-process and final inspections, completing quality documentation as required.
  • Identifying and reporting non-conformances, raising CAPAs where necessary, and liaising with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Carrying out Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as Visual Inspection, Positive Material Identification (PMI), Hardness Testing, and Dye Penetrant Testing.
  • Supporting the control and documentation of all examinations and tests in line with company quality plans.
  • Completing relevant administrative tasks, including writing reports, updating CAPAs, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Promoting and adhering to Health & Safety policies, ensuring a zero-accident environment.
What You'll Need
  • HND/HNC in Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong background in inspection/quality roles within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use a wide range of measuring equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and analytical approach.
  • Strong IT skills and confident in reporting/administration.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • British required (dual accepted, but primary must be British).
Desirable Experience
  • Certification in Positive Material Identification (PMI Gun).
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor).
  • Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Knowledge of ISO/ASME/NORSOK/PED quality standards.
  • Background in Measurement Systems Analysis.
