Goods In Manager | Retail / Garden Centre | Matlock
Salary: £28k + Staff Discount
Hours: 40 per week, Full-Time, Permanent (Monday-Friday)
About the Role
An established and fast-paced retail business is looking for an experienced Goods In Manager to lead and support a busy warehouse and stock handling team based at a well-regarded garden centre in Matlock.
The role will focus on ensuring the efficient management of all incoming stock, inter-branch transfers, and returns, while maintaining a clean and organised yard and stock storage area. You'll oversee accurate system input for stock movements and take ownership of resolving supplier discrepancies. Team training and development will also be a key part of the role.
You'll work closely with department managers and the site leadership team to ensure stock is processed quickly and efficiently from delivery to shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage goods-in processes, including deliveries, returns, and transfers
* Ensure stock data is accurately recorded in systems and discrepancies are followed up
* Maintain visual and operational standards in storage areas and yard
* Train and guide your team to avoid repeat errors and improve accuracy
* Communicate effectively with management and department teams
* Ensure timely and efficient stock transfer to shop floor areas
What We're Looking For
* Counterbalance FLT license
* Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
* Experience in a busy goods-in environment, ideally in retail
* Flexible and willing to support peak delivery periods (occasional weekend work may be required)
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Experience supervising or managing a team
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with barcode scanning and stock management systems is a plus
