A leading garden centre company is seeking a Goods In Assistant Driver for a full-time role based at their Forest Lodge location. This varied position involves warehouse duties and customer deliveries, providing opportunities to enhance customer service while ensuring operational excellence. Key responsibilities include managing stock accuracy and maintaining delivery logs, requiring a strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
Pay rate up to £12.21 per hour
We are recruiting a goods in assistant on a full-time and permanent basis, working 38 hours per week including alternate weekends.
This role will include warehouse responsibilities and driving responsibilities. The day-to-day responsibilities will depend on trading and delivery slots, no two weeks will be the same. This is a varied role, and some weeks will involve completing Customer Home Deliveries and other weeks the role will fully be focussed on warehouse responsibilities.

About the role
Day to day warehouse duties include lifting, carrying and clerical administration. This role requires diligence and care to ensure that stock control systems remain accurate. You will be booking in deliveries, returning items to suppliers, preparing the delivery van, stacking and storing goods using warehouse equipment. It may also involve completing customer home deliveries. You may also be required to work in the Garden Centre.
Key Responsibilities
About You
You will be reporting directly to the Goods In Team Leader, with a good eye for detail and comfortable with numerical calculations and tallies. Experience of working with computer systems is helpful as you will be responsible for maintaining warehouse movement reports on a regular basis. This role includes extensive manual handling and physical labour. Awareness of security and health procedures that govern warehouse operations is beneficial. Forklift and electric pallet truck experience would be an advantage, however full training will be given. Previous warehouse experience would be an advantage.
You will require a Full Valid UK Driving Licence for this role and no points would be desirable, if you do have points on your licence this will need to be disclosed and suitability for the role will be assessed depending on the circumstances.
