Job description

We are seeking a Supervisor for our dynamic and demanding Goods in and Replenishment department within our Distribution Centre in Fareham. This vacancy is for our Twilight Shift (2pm to 10pm).

The Supervisor will be responsible for the accurate receipt and putaway of stock, with a focus on maintaining optimal stock levels in the pick faces to prevent order delays and facilitate prompt, efficient service. To lead and supervise a team of operatives and a Team Leader, ensuring team motivation, adherence to safety standards, and consistent achievement of daily KPIs. Effectivecollaboration with other departments to support overall operational success is essential.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Daily workload to be managed fairly between the team.
  • Liaise with colleagues in different departments to prioritise certain PO’s or SKU’s when required.
  • Ensuring up to date KPI details are captured daily and documented on individual KPI sheets.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately with recording and correcting any errors made.
  • Informal discussions completed and recorded on any conduct related issues.
  • Liaise with colleagues in inventory control on errors and RET’s for any stock adjustments required.
  • All RA’s and RET’s to be processes daily and all Goods In queries are resolved as soon as possible.
  • Ensure all departmental trackers are maintained and updated daily, and verify that all pallet and trolley locations in the WMS are accurately reflected and free of stock discrepancies.
  • Ensuring the department supports other areas of the business if required ensuring relevant training is completed.
  • Overflows must be closely monitored and checked every 2 hours.
  • Managing holiday request effectively within the team, ensuring the operation does not get impacted.
  • Complete all return-to-work documents for staff at the beginning of shift.
  • Problem solve issues that arise.
  • Ensure all processes are followed correctly.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and competent in all areas of the department.
  • Identify and action any updates to processes and procedures to help increase productivity.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, keeping all work areas tidy using the clean as you go policy.
  • Close monitoring and supervising of overfilling pick faces and overflows.
  • Always promote safe working practises and always lead by example.
  • Ensure constructive handovers are completed daily during shift handovers.
  • Attend warehouse meetings as and when required.
  • Ensure INBSHIP containers deliveries are booked in and putaway within 3hours. (AM shift only)
  • Ensuring all MHE has sufficient charge for the oncoming shift.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Minimum 2 year experience within a Leadership role in a warehouse environment.
  • Previous WMS experience.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work proactively while remaining adaptable to last-minute operational changes and effectively prioritizing workload.
