Job summary

Farol Ltd is seeking a workshop-based Technician for the Golf & Turf Service department at our Milton Common Head Office. You will service, repair and refurbish a wide range of professional turf machinery, from homeowner mowers to commercial and golf equipment, reporting to the Golf & Turf Service Manager.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience with turf machinery, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with turf machinery, agricultural, plant or groundcare equipment.
• High-level mechanical knowledge with strong operational understanding of turf equipment.
• Advanced understanding of electrical systems, electronic controls and CAN network diagnostics.
• Strong fault finding and structured diagnostic capability.
• Proficient in the use of computers, tablets and mobile devices.
• Confident working with advanced machinery technology and manufacturer diagnostic software.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.
• Experience operating cylinder grinding equipment (training can be provided).
• Manufacturer training or technical certifications.
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance and repair of professional turf machinery including homeowner ride-on and pedestrian mowers through to Commercial and Golf precision turf machinery, compact tractors.
• Cylinder reel and bottom blade grinding, set-up and precision adjustment
• Advanced fault finding and diagnostics across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Diagnostics and troubleshooting of CAN bus network systems
• Refurbishment and full operational preparation of used equipment for resale
• Some Pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and operational testing of new and used machinery
• Use of manufacturer diagnostic software and digital service platforms
• Accurate completion of digital service records and job documentation
• Supporting workshop organisation, cleanliness and adherence to health & safety standards
• Providing technical support to the sales and service team as and when required
