Job description
Overview

This company's flagship store has much to be inwardly proud of. Their history, jewellery trade associations, national commendations from peers, and enduring corporate support to a local charity all reflect their values. Since 1979, the business has focused on delivering retailing perfection for their loyal jewellery-buying patrons. Members of the Company of Master Jewellers and the National Association of Jewellers sustain a culture centered on high-quality workmanship and an on-site workshop that creates precious jewellery pieces for future customer admiration.

Job Role

Within this revered workshop team there is an opportunity to welcome a further jobbing jeweller to the team. The business has traditionally offered a wide range of in-house jewellery making services, including ring sizing, re-tipping, soldering, plating, cleaning, and polishing. The workload is such that there can be some flexibility as to the level of bench understanding; several Master Jewellers are available to share experience and support the development of newer team members in goldsmithing proficiency.

Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Perform bench work across a range of jewellery making activities (e.g., sizing, re-tipping, soldering, plating, cleaning, polishing).
  • Contribute to on-site manufacturing and refinement of pieces to high standards.
  • Collaborate with senior Master Jewellers to develop skills and knowledge in goldsmithing.
Requirements
  • Ideally bench-proven with the ability to demonstrate a broad range of bench competency.
  • Some recognised industry training or equivalent real-time bench work experience.
  • Mounting skills are advantageous; capability to component build or handmake is desirable.

Salary: Competitive salary (skill level related).
