The Sustainable Investing Group is a platform that manages dedicated strategies focused on long-term capital appreciation by committing to non-infrastructure, high-quality companies with strong management teams and actively supporting their development, with the ultimate goal of creating value and harvesting investments within a three to five-year period.

Analysts and Associates are part of a talented global team of investment professionals responsible for the full life cycle of investments, from identifying opportunities through to deal execution and portfolio company value creation. You will be involved in a wide range of high-profile transactions, which might include management buy-outs, take privates, add-on acquisitions, and build-ups.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Analyst / Junior Associate, who is passionate about investing with a strong interest in Climate and Sustainability. Previous work and internship experience in the Private Equity industry is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary job responsibilities will include:

  1. Reviewing and analyzing potential investment opportunities mainly across EMEA.
  2. Understanding and building complex financial models for company valuation purposes.
  3. Supporting the team in due diligence activities and demonstrating the ability to take ownership and adapt to different industries and geographies.
  4. Participating in structuring, negotiating, and documenting investments, with a key contribution to preparing discussion material on proposed investments for Investment Committees.
  5. Helping in the monitoring of existing portfolio investments, creating trustworthy and solid relationships with management teams and partners at portfolio companies.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

We are looking for highly motivated, well-rounded, team players who are passionate about investing and want to build a long-term career at Goldman Sachs. The successful candidate should have:

  1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with an excellent academic and professional record.
  2. Previous experience in Investment Banking and/or an investing role in Private Equity, or in private equity due diligence in Management Consulting.
  3. Strong financial analysis/modeling experience and analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. The ability to adapt quickly to a variety of industries and businesses and self-direct, analyze, and promote independent investment judgments.
  5. The ability to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people, work effectively under pressure, and be keen to take on responsibility.
  6. An open, flexible, positive, and proactive attitude. Detail orientation and high motivation to effectively contribute to the team’s success.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. European language skills are a plus.
